What to Avoid

  • Entering your home if it is unsafe.
From entering a flooded home to operating a generator, there are many potentially risky situations you will face. Click here for tips to keep you and your family safe after the hurricane has passed.

  • Waiting to report damage to your home.
The sooner you file your claim, the better. This will expedite the handling process and ensure all the damage caused by the storm is addressed.

  • Signing contracts with vendors other than those on our approved list.
Fraudulent contractors prey on victims after a storm. If you are approached by an unsolicited contractor, contact Slide at (866) 230-3758 before signing any contracts. We will ensure you have a legitimate contractor who can get the work done within the terms of your policy. Doing this will avoid you having unexpected out of pocket costs from the contractor.
