Who will be affected by the emergency order issued by the Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR)?
All existing policyholders across all products. This order does not apply to new business policies written on 9/28/22, and after.

What happens to policies issued a “Notice of Cancellation for Underwriting Reasons” from 9/18/22 to 9/27/22?
All Underwriting Notice of Cancellations issued between 9/18/22 to 9/27/22 will be withdrawn. Underwriting will review and take appropriate action on or after 11/28/22.

What happens to policies cancelled for non-payment during that time?
Non-Payment Cancellations issued or mailed from 9/18/22 to 9/27/22, or with effective dates of 9/28/22 to 11/28/22, will be reinstated. Payment must be received by 11/28/22.

What happens to renewal policies that lapse during that time
Renewal lapses with effective dates of 9/28/22 to 11/28/22, will be reinstated. Payment must be received by 11/28/22.

What if I have a client with a cancellation or renewal lapse effective prior to 9/28/22?
Policies cancelled or lapsed prior to 9/28/22 will not be reinstated.

What if I have a client calling with a cancellation effective between 9/28/22 to 11/28/22?
Policies with a cancellation effective date of 9/28/22 to 11/28/22 will be reinstated. Underwriting will review and take appropriate action on or after 11/28/22.

What if I have a client calling with a nonrenewal effective between 9/28/22 to 11/28/22?
Policies with a non-renewal effective date of 9/28/22 to 11/28/22 will be reinstated. Underwriting will review and take appropriate action after 11/28/22.

Will Slide continue to issue cancellations and/or nonrenewal notices from 9/28/22 to 11/28/22?
We will not cancel or non-renew policies, nor issue notices of cancellation or non-renewal, between 9/28/22 and 11/28/22. 

Can a policyholder still request to cancel or choose not to renew their policy?
Yes, a cancellation or nonrenewal may occur prior to 11/28/22, at the written request of the policyholder.
